Independence Found Ltd
Pursuing independence and participation
occupational therapy after catastrophic injury
West Midlands and surrounding counties.
The ultimate aim of occupational therapy is to positively influence how people are able to participate, and maximise their independence, within their everyday lives.
Does your client lack structure to their day following the changes experienced after their injury?
We can help them to explore new interests and understand their skills and limitations in order to build up participation in home and community based activities.
Is your client experiencing reduced independence within personal care or home based activities?
We can assess the impact of their injury on daily living skills and provide a bespoke rehabilitation aimed at increasing abilities within specific activities.
Has your client experienced a change in their work skills or status as a result of their injury?
We provide vocational rehabilitation to all clients of a working age as part of our occupational therapy interventions - work is a fundamental daily living skill after all.
Does your client experience difficulty with accessing their community due to cognitive or physical difficulties?
We work with individuals in their local areas to develop community skills so that they can participate in the world beyond their home again.
Is your client limited in how they access their home environment due to changes in their physical, sensory or cognitive needs?
We can assess how the environment is limiting independence and make recommendations for equipment, modifications or adaptations to find solutions. We can also work alongside architects ad builders where adaptations are implemented.
Working collaboratively with case managers, client liaison officers, statutory services and more, Independence Found Ltd provides highly skilled and goal directed occupational therapy for clients with complex conditions who have experienced catastrophic injuries. This includes those with acquired brain injury, spinal injury, amputation and polytrauma.
We put our clients at the centre of their therapy and apply a goal directed approach to identifying what client's need, want or are expected to participate in and provide solution focused interventions to progress towards their goals.
We are motivated to provide high quality, comprehensive assessments and bespoke interventions ensuring we communicate with our referrers throughout our involvement. Please contact Clinical Director Hayley Green to discuss your client's needs.
"I would not want to miss the opportunity to thank Hayley for her outstanding contribution to my client's lives. I can always count on her and would have no hesitation in recommending her for other clients."
Alison, Case Manager
"Communication with the client and myself was excellent."
"Your assistance in assessing my Mother's needs and providing us with her expert advice and recommendations was critical to the success of my Mother's move back into independent living. It gave us both the confidence that we had measures in place to make life as easy as possible and to minimise the risks, and all of the aids and adaptions are in daily use."
Provision of therapy using video technology has become an essential part of our service. Currently we are able to provide consultations to existing clients and will consider new referrals on a case by case basis. Therapy via video does not allow us to provide the bespoke and in depth level of consultation and assessment that we usually provide however, it is allowing us to carry out partial assessments and specific interventions which are being carried out with some great success. Please contact us for more information.
Building Your Business Mentorship
If you are interested in building your own independent practice and are seeking guidance and mentorship then consider arranging a 'discovery call' with us to see how we can help. Hayley and Diana can support you through the decision making and set up process so that you can focus your energy on the clinical side of your business. We have over 20 years of experience in private practice between us and, via our work with the RCOTSS-IP, have provided guidance to many OT's. Professional Mentorship for occupational therapists considering entering private practice can help you to find clarity in your decision making in order to evoke action.
When choosing a mentor or supervisor it is important that you are able to develop a rapport so that you can work together effectively. To help establish if we can be a 'right fit', I offer a free 15minute discovery call. Please complete the contact form below should you wish to arrange this.
Professional contact meetings can be carried out over the phone, via video call or face to face subject to location.
We are also able to provide individual and departmental clinical supervision if or your organisation wishes to outsource this service. Clinical Supervision is a requirement of the HCPC and supports you as a therapist to document your continuing professional development and to reflect on and discuss your clinical workload and services.
